Heartland Pride is a community resource and support group that seeks to promote equality, civil rights, and inclusiveness for the LGBTQ community in Omaha and beyond. Some of the LGBTQ community resources in Omaha include: Omaha may not have the largest LGBTQ community compared to some other cities in the country, but it is one that is nevertheless thriving, steadily growing, and well-supported. The people of Omaha love their corn – they grow it, and cook it in any number of unique local dishes – even ice cream!.In 1925, it appeared on the hotel’s menu for 40 cents. The Reuben sandwich was invented in Omaha by Reuben Kulakofsky, who worked in the Blackstone Hotel.
His first television show was called “The Squirrel’s Nest”.
Following a treaty with the Omaha tribe, The Nebraska Territory was created as part of the Kansas-Nebraska Act and the City of Omaha itself was founded in July of 1854. Like much of the American West, Omaha sits on a piece of land originally secured by Thomas Jefferson as part of the Louisiana Purchase. If you make your home here in the heartland, chances are, you’ll be glad you did. Even better, it is home to a growing and diverse LGBTQ community. The place is kept immaculately clean and all are welcome.Situated on the banks of the Missouri River, Omaha is a heartland city well-known for its pioneer history, museums, and warm and welcoming spirit. You owe it to yourself to stop on in and join the fun. The crew is also very friendly and does a great job serving customers during the busiest of times. The staff is knowledgeable in the beers they pour and can also pour your favorite drink or make you an awesome Bloody Marys. The selection of beers is always outstanding and new beers are constantly being rotated onto the taps. Beercade is far enough away from the Old Market area so you can avoid the crowds, but close enough if you wanted to get something to eat. There is plenty of parking and the area, Little Bohemia, is being revitalized with new businesses. There is never a cover charge and Happy Hour is seven days a week until 7. There is plenty of room to relax and enjoy a drink, and the interior has some really cool artwork painted on the walls. The interior reminds me of some of the arcades that i visited in the 70s and 80s. They have pinball tournaments and Killer Queen contests. 2 is much larger than the original and offers plenty of games to keep everyone happy. We were really excited to hear of Beercade 2 opening near downtown because we both work in the area.īeercade 2 follows the same successful model of Beercade-Pinball, Video Games and a Killer lineup of beers.
